Normally our decking boards come double-grooved with four rounded edges. The surface is planed smooth. Other profiles are available upon request.
Wood-Idea decking can be face screwed directly to bearers and joists. For a clean and smooth surface our decking come with side grooves which allow easy installation with hidden fasteners. Because decking wood are so dense we recommend boring a pilot hole first before screwing. 5-8mm gap between boards is the optimum space for wood to expand & contract and allow enough expanse for water drainage.
The long-term performance of decking is dependent on regular and effective maintenance. The frequency of maintenance will depend on the type of finish and the degree of exposure to the weather. Recoating and any further preparations should be carried out in accordance with the finish manufacturer’s specifications.
